Welcome to the official website of Harold Dyche. As you browse these pages, you will learn more about me, my family, and my candidacy for District Judge. A special election has been called this year to allow the people of Knox and Laurel Counties to choose the person they would like to fill the seat recently vacated with Judge Michael O. Caperton's election to the Kentucky Court of Appeals. A total of five candidates have filed for the position, requiring a primary election on May 20, 2008. The two candidates with the most votes will advance to the General Election on November 4, 2008.
I am running for District Judge, as I did two years ago during the regular election, because I want to help make our communities safer and better places to live. I believe that a judge should conduct himself with dignity and professionalism, and should treat everyone who appears in court with the respect and courtesy they are due. I have a broad range of experience in the court system spanning over sixteen years, including working as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney, in private civil practice, as a staff attorney for the Kentucky Court of Appeals, and as part of the support staff for the court system. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to be your next District Judge. As you review this site and learn more about me, I am confident that you will agree that I have the experience and integrity you expect in your district judge.
